WEEK 2: DR. PHILIP D. WISE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
Joining us tonight is Fisher Wise from the Law Offices of Fisher Wise, to present our Scholar Athlete of the Week, in memory of Dr. Philip D. Wise.
From Northwest Whitfield High School is Colby Ramsey.
Colby is a linebacker on the varsity team for the past two years where he finished last year with 30 tackles, six of those were for a loss, two sacks, and three pass break ups.
In the classroom Colby holds a 3.93 G.P.A., and has received the Student Numeric Award for Academic Achievement and is a member of the Beta Club.
Outside the classroom, Colby spends time at the Mt. Rachel Baptist Church in the Children’s Ministry.
He also volunteers at Beaverdale Elementary and the City of Refuge in Dalton.
From Dalton High School is Bryce Houghton.
Bryce plays baseball and football.
On the diamond, he will be a four-year letterman, where he threw a no-hitter in the final four state championships. In football he rushed 11 times for 135 yards and caught 11 passes for 83 yards last year.
In the classroom, Bryce holds a 4.54 G.P.A., and is ranked 21st in his class.
He is the president of the FCA and a member of the Spanish Club.
Bryce spends time in the community as a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Miracle League Baseball, City of Refuge in Dalton, and at Rockbridge Community Church.
Congratulations to both Colby Ramsey and Bryce Houghton both students are eligible for a $5,000 scholarship at the end of the season, sponsored by the Law Offices of Fisher Wise.
